In a dimly lit classroom in Istanbul, a visiting professor passionately explains Ancient Greek terminology. Suddenly, the door bursts open, and a group of frantic students rushes in, glancing back with wide eyes, as if fleeing an unseen terror lurking just outside. As the door slams shut, the class continues trying to apply Greek terminology to the nightmare the students left behind.

A deep dive into the personal and familial repercussions of studying abroad and the value of education in a foreign land. A saga of estranged brothers and cousins whose freshly established connections are severely affected by Yasemin’s selfish quest for her roots to remedy her existential and cultural alienation caused by her education.
